Throwback to the visit of the Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính in France

Eight years after the signing of the Strategic Partnership Agreement between France and Vietnam and one year after the entry into force of the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the European Union, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh made his first official visit to France from 3rd to 5th of November on the invitation of his counterpart the Prime Minister Jean Castex. These three days were punctuated by official talks, agreement signatures and meetings with companies.

On November 4th, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh participated in the Vietnam-France Business Forum organized by the “Mouvement des Entreprises de France” (MEDEF). With the participation of our President Thibaut Giroux, EuroCham President Alain Cany handed over a check of 304,874 euros to the Vietnamese side, symbolizing the participation of 10 French companies in the joint campaign led by EuroCham to finance medical equipment "Breathe Again Vietnam".

We would like to highlight the contribution of our members: Airbus, Air Liquide, Apple Tree, Arep, BNP Paribas, Bolloré, Gameloft, Geodis, Pernod Ricard as well as Tryba.

During the forum, the Prime Minister attended the signing ceremony of 29 cooperation agreements between Vietnamese ministries, sectors, organizations and enterprises and partners from France and some European countries.

The Prime Minister continued his visit with a meeting with the President Emmanuel Macron. In the perspective of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the 10th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-France strategic partnership in 2023, the two leaders agreed to jointly develop an annual plan with specific tasks to further deepen the bilateral strategic partnership relationship.

Both sides reaffirmed their wish to actively work for the implementation of the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and accelerate the ratification process of the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA).

Our President Thibaut Giroux attended the Prime Minister's visit to the Sanofi - Paris site and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Vietnam Pharmaceutical Corporation ("Vinapharm") and the Sanofi Group to strengthen cooperation by focusing on: A multi-year investment plan of up to €5 million to support the expansion of its manufacturing plant in Vietnam; A biomass energy project by using rice husks as a renewable energy source to replace diesel at Sanofi Vietnam factory (€1.2 million).

VNPT Group and Thales agreed to accelerate the digital transformation process in Vietnam, in the presence of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and French Prime Minister Jean Castex. VNPT Group and Thales will cooperate in the areas of telecommunication satellites, smart and secure cities, digital identity and biometrics, 5G and IoT, and cyber security.

The agreements also include VinFast's agreement with the EDF Group on the supply and installation of a network of public charging stations for electric cars and related services for VinFast's customers in France.

VietJet and Airbus also signed an agreement for the supply of 119 aircrafts, among other conditions.

Proparco and HDBank signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen their existing collaboration in financing renewable energy projects in Vietnam.

T&T Group has entered into multiple agreements with Total Eren, worth an estimated $3 billion, in the renewable energy sector. It also signed an agreement with NG Biotech for the transfer of rapid test technology, an agreement with the François Baclesse Cancer Center for the construction of a specialized hospital in HCMV, and an agreement with EM Normandie for consulting services in education.

FPT and Airbus Skywise have signed an agreement on the deployment of technology solutions and the acceleration of digital transformation in the aviation industry.

CT Group and BNP Paribas Bank entered into a $600 million consulting and financial support agreement for real estate, technology and energy projects.

K Hospital, Vietnam national cancer hospital in Hanoi, and Xenothera signed an agreement for research and clinical trials.

The Vietnamese Prime Minister stressed that Vietnam-France cooperation has been developing in all fields, from investment and trade to culture and education, contributing to the development of both sides. The two countries are strengthening their ties, thanks to their mutual trust, in line with Vietnam's foreign policy, he said.

The Vietnamese government leader said Vietnam is focusing its efforts on solving investors' issues with infrastructure, institutions and human resources.

Involved with public and private partners in the setting up and running of this high-level exchange program, the CCIFV is pleased with the bright perspectives of the ongoing relationship between France and Vietnam.
